There was once a donkey and a dog who lived with the same owner and every night they would both sleep in their owners small backyard. The dog had been living with his owner for a long time now and the donkey had recently come. One night the dog heard many noises, but just went back to sleep. Later in the night, the donkey heard the noises too and saw that the dog was trying to avoid the noises. "Why don't you bark?" asked the donkey to the dog. "The noises might be coming from theives trying to rob our owner. "I have had experience with this situation and I advice you not to do anything about it." said the dog, and went back to sleep. The donkey though immediately started braying so that his owner would wake up and catch the robbers. The robbers heard the donkey and got frightened and left even before the owner woke up, so when the owner woke up and came out to see what was wrong, he thought the donkey had just gone nuts. He was also very furious because the donkey had woken him up. The owner therefore taught the donkey a lesson he would never forget and thats when the donkey realized that the dog was right after all! |
